The Clutch Fork Pivot Ball is the large bolt inside the bell housing that the fork pivots on when the pedal is depressed. These can wear over time due to the metal on metal contact with the fork. Make sure you inspect yours during every clutch replacement. Application Note: This pivot ball only fits the solid cast iron clutch fork.
Jan 23, 2004 · On my particular bellhousing there was a 3/4" height difference that caused the clutch fork to apply constant pressure to the throwout bearing and it rode on the pressure plate. The cause was found to be the wrong size thread in the bellhousing for the clutch ball pivot and their adjustable pivot would not work.

I went to install the clutch fork and throwout bearing and can't get the fork over the pivot ball. I assume this is because I added a newer flywheel and went to a 10.5" clutch (the donor car that the bell housing came out of had a 10" clutch, thus that is what the pivot ball was adjusted to). Anyway, I'm sure I need to adjust this thing.
